Gaza Going Dark Soon

Israeli Strikes Decimate Neighborhoods, Hospitals Run Low on Supplies, and Blackout Looms

In the sealed-off Gaza Strip, Palestinians are facing an unimaginable nightmare as Israeli strikes continue to demolish entire neighborhoods, leaving behind a trail of destruction and despair. Hospitals are running dangerously low on supplies, and to make matters worse, a power blackout is expected to plunge the territory into darkness within hours. This dire situation has been made worse by a deadly mass incursion of Hamas terrorists, sparking a war that has already claimed the lives of thousands.

Israel cannot expect to maintain their moral superiority throughout the world following WWII, and the establishment of the Jewish state as a result, if they massacre tens of thousands of Gazan people while fighting Hamas terrorists.

The Israeli airstrikes have reduced entire city blocks to rubble, burying countless bodies beneath the debris. Despite the capture of an estimated 150 people by Hamas, including soldiers, men, women, children, and disabled people, the bombardment shows no signs of abating. Israel has vowed total retaliation against Hamas, the leading terrorist group in Gaza, and has cut off the entry of essential supplies, including food, water, fuel, and medicine, into the already beleaguered territory.

As Palestinians desperately seek safety, humanitarian groups are pleading for the creation of safe zones to deliver aid, as hospitals, overwhelmed by the influx of wounded, are running out of supplies. The situation is dire, with the power authority in Gaza warning that the territory’s sole power plant will run out of fuel, leaving the entire region without electricity, since the importation of fuel is impossible unless permitted by Israel.

President Biden, has issued warnings, urging other countries and armed groups to refrain from entering the war. However, the risk of an expanded regional conflict looms, as evidenced by the exchange of fire over Israel’s northern borders with Hezbollah in Lebanon and Syria. Israel has mobilized huge numbers of reservists (over 300,000) and is preparing to launch a brutal ground offensive into Gaza.

In a distressing new tactic, Israel is now warning civilians to evacuate entire neighborhoods, signaling a potential prelude to a ground offensive, or to demolish buildings from aerial bombing. The objective is clear: Israel seeks to destroy Hamas, however their compassion for the nearly 2 million noncombatants is zero. Hamas officials have vowed to respond to Israeli military action, and desperation is growing among Palestinians who feel trapped under complete Israeli apartheid.

The situation in Gaza is a humanitarian catastrophe, with entire neighborhoods reduced to rubble, hospitals on the brink of collapse, and a looming blackout that will bring massive suffering to the people of Gaza.

The international community must act to de-escalate the conflict, preventing further loss of life and devastation to the existence of innocent civilians.
