A government losing its operating funding is not a regular or normal thing that happens to stable democracies. MAGA Republicans decided to put thousands of people out of work to oppress political views and speech.
Make no mistake, Hegseth’s ordering all US military leadership to a political speech is step one in remaking the military in the image of MAGA. American cities will be under siege within the next year in the lead-up to the 2026 election.
Pfizer makes about 350 prescription drugs, and they did not disclose which products will get a price reduction. Trump said “next week” he will reveal the new prices (spoiler: he won’t).
Attacks on journalists are common for dictatorships, and we are seeing the behavior escalate every day. In ordinary times such an assualt wuld result in serioius feonly charges and possibly a prison sentence.
It might be counterintuitive that a nuclear power plant can be without power. In this case the station no longer generates power from its nuclear fuel due to the war and damage to the plant. Diesel generators kept the safety systems working until last week.
Trump falsely claimed that 2/3rds of US government workers are protected by ‘national securty interests’ therefore are not eligible to form or join labor unions. He wants to fire these people, and unionization will make that harder.

The Dems strategy is one of failure. One side is advocating for the support of the country’s people; the other side wants to tear the world apart for their enrichment. There is no agreement possible in this situation.
While peace between Palestine and Israel is possible, sadly Trump’s plan to end the war is a laughable mess, barely disguising its true focus as a real estate development project, where he chairs the “Board of Peace.”
Like it or not, China is expanding its soft power investments at a time when the US is withdrawing from the international community. MAGA voters want isolation, but what they will get is a stronger adversary in China.
A small detail, but an important one. If Putin were interested in ending his illegal attack on Ukraine, he would not be increasing the number of soldiers preparing to fight in the war.
These tariffs are a use tax paid by American consumers. Housing will become more expensive much faster than the normal rate of real estate appreciation, locking even more people into high-cost rentals.
This should be a much bigger story, because control of the government’s funding without citizen transparency is a well-known step towards authoritarian, dictatorial rule.

If America were an educated, civically engaged country, guns would be illegal to possess. Instead, a minority of well-funded maniacs controls your right to be safe.
There is no program, intervention, or security measure that will protect Americans from being shot to death by a homicidal maniac except making guns illegal to possess.
Donald Trump deployed American military soldiers to police and control two more cities: Portland and Chicago. His actions are illegal and should be cause for immediate impeachment, but the US Congress is controlled by MAGA.
Moldova shares a border with Ukraine and Romania, an EU country. An independent Moldova aligned with Europe and against Putin’s Russia is essential for EU security.
Trump does not want to spend money on programs MAGA is opposed to, despite Congress having already guaranteed funding for those purposes. This is illegal and yet another impeachable offense, except now SCOTUS has signaled it may not be after all.
America fully intends to have a military conflict with Venezuela. Whether Trump intends to limit his illegal aggression to air or naval combat or if he plans a ground invasion is anyone’s guess.

Mamdani is up 20 points in this latest poll, with great momentum going into the last 6 weeks of the campaign. NYC will thrive with his mayorship.
Kimmel has no reason to apologize. MAGA will punch back forever; they will never, ever find reconciliation. Kimmel is too valuable to their base as an enemy, even if he clearly isn’t.

Trump is racking up dozens of impeachable offenses in this term. All of this is illegal and has to be stopped; the lawlessness can’t continue.
This guy spent the last year proposing outrageous ways to blur state and religious lines. He’s been one of the worst right-wing lunatics.
She is not wrong. Dems are losing the plot with their infighting and posturing about who can be the most centrist of centrists.
Trump cannot truly believe South Korean companies are going to rush back to the US for new investments after he had 350 of thier citizen arrested, can he?
This speech was the most humiliating representation of a US president on the global stage, maybe in the country’s history. What a joke.
Why the world’s leaders allow this carnage to continue is a sad, depressive mystery. My heart pours out for these lost souls in Gaza.

Russia has started waging a soft war against NATO, and thus the West. He’s testing the political resolve and the military responses.
Right-wing lunatics are becoming emboldened to show their deep racism and their willingness to perpetrate violence on anyone who disagrees.
He has no idea what he’s doing. EU countries have to buy Russian oil until their clean energy alternatives are sufficient. It’s a mad world, but that’s the political reality.
